Horn Lake Cottages for Sale
Horn Lake is a highly sought-after, mid-sized lake known for its clean, spring-fed water and classic Canadian Shield character. Rugged granite outcrops, windswept pine and hemlock, and a largely undeveloped shoreline give the lake a Muskoka / Georgian Bay feel. Much of the surrounding land is environmentally sensitive, and strict controls on new lot creation mean the lake is essentially frozen to future large-scale development.
Several islands—most notably Twin Island and Rock Island—are a mix of Crown and private land, contributing to the lake’s natural, unspoiled landscape.
I grew up on Horn Lake and spent countless hours paddling and fishing here, so I’ll admit my bias: it’s an exceptional lake. The north end, which is predominantly Crown land, offers multiple informal trails leading to nearby back lakes, as well as a great jumping rock that locals have enjoyed for generations.
